Can't be crocus time already?!

I just love the demure burst of color crocuses add to the drab winter landscape. Still, this year they caught me by surprise. Can it really be crocus time already?
Last year we were in New Orleans around Mardi Gras and caught a few strands of beads. I saved them all this time intending to make a "Mardi Gras Tree" at our house. Here is our little pink dogwood adorned for the season.

Last but not least... Thank you all so much for your congrats on the arrival of our sweet Clara! Here is a picture of her from today, with a precious outfit given to her by Lisa of A Shower Fresh Garden!

I have no idea how I'm going to have time to garden with a baby, a demanding job, and a husband who works nights out of town and is in school.... but I'm going to try!
Have a great weekend! GG

Oh yay!!! I've been wondering if you'd had your baby yet. She is so precious looking. Congratulations to you and your husband.

Love the Mardi Gras bead tree idea. It's funny to see all the bejeweled trees in N.O. after the parades, isn't it? May have to steal that idea!

Ginger,

Cute photo of Clara, she is adorable! Surprised you just got crocus to bloom our Blue Bird crocus opened today, the yellow ones weeks ago.

She's so sweet! I ignored my garden for almost a year before I had the time to really do much in it. I would do power weeding when they napped. Enjoy every second of her you can, time goes so quickly. I can't believe our youngest is already 4.
I was surprised by the Crocuses yesterday.

She's adorable;-) Just do what you need to do and don't forget to take care of yourself;-) If you don't blog much that's ok...just whenever. You will find a way to do what needs to be done and then fit in what you have time for that you really want to do. I remember when my son was a baby he would sleep in his pack 'n play while I worked in the garden for hours at a time! Looking back, I can't believe I was able to get so much done. Some days will be good ones like that...but just don't let yourself get caught up in 'shoulds' and 'musts'. You are going to be busy and tired so be good to yourself;-) When you have time to add photos I hope I am able to notice and stop by!

You are getting some great advice from all the previous posters, so I won't repeat it! What a darling she is! Kiss her and love her and admire her tiny feet and fingers and ears! It's amazing how quickly that first year goes by!

Ginger,

Yes I think that would work on your railing. The building code here on railings is that no where can a 4 1/2 inch sphere can fit through the railings or the stair risers. If the bottom of your railings is more than 4 1/2 inches I'd do something to fix it. I think the 4 1/2 inches is so a baby can not get caught in it.
